Virginia PONY State Championships (July 12-13)
Smithfield, VA
DBA…..This weekend signifies what this phrase is all about. Have a dream, believe in that dream, and go out and achieve the dream. I knew when I visited the mound late in the day yesterday that something special was about to happen. When each of those gathered in the circle came together saying under their breath ever so slightly but audible enough for me to hear “gotta believe”, I knew they were in full control of the situation as a TEAM. The words of encouragement for each other was so powerful, I merely listened, slowly backed away and told the girls to continue to have fun and play their game. Amazing stuff!!!!
We set a goal and you guys did something that I don’t think has ever been done before. The 2008 Baseliners 12U are awesome. We cannot be prouder of this collection of softball players than we are now. Congratulations for your achievements throughout the regular season – 3 Virginia State Championships – ASA, NSA, and PONY – all in one season. Let’s take a small break and do our final preps late this week and next week for Alabama and the USA-ASA “A” Nationals. This will be the biggest show in the country for the 12U’s so lets prepare to have a fantastic time, no matter the outcome. Always remember, our success is not measured in wins and losses, merely that we progress from what we did the time before. CONGRATULATIONS on your achievement girls during this regular season.

Virginia NSA State Championships (June 28-29)
Salem, VA
Yet another WOW from you guys! Truly awesome! You guys continue to perform at the high level and continue to take it higher each week. This is precisely what a 2nd year team should be doing, all the while you're continually displaying tremendous pride, sportsmanship, and camaraderie with your peers when not on the field. You all have matured so much over the spring and summer. Never leaving the winners bracket was phenomenal.
We've had a great month of June as far as tournament play goes. Our team record is 17-1 in three very high-profile tournaments - what a way to run the summer month as we close in on the final two tournaments prior to going to Alabama. We're 2 for 2 in our quest for our goal of 3 state championships we set for ourselves last fall. Or as Mrs Miller says, its like going for the Triple Crown.
Let's go off and enjoy our party at Coach Geralds over the 4th, have a great weekend in the 14U tournament, and then go to PONY States for the final run. CONGRATULATIONS NSA State Champions!!!!!!! Number-1 ranked team in Virginia!!!!
Virginia ASA State Championships (June 14-15)

WOW! What an amazing and fun weekend. You guys are the 2008 ASA 12U Virginia State Champions! (clap, clap, clap) Congratulations on your outstanding showing. You’ve earned the berth to ASA Nationals. You once again delivered hard-fought, courageous, and classy victories, capped with an outstanding 7-inning final against the Vienna Stars 95.
As we look ahead and take a mini-breather with a weekend off, the NSA States will be our next quest. Carrying the Baseliner tradition throughout the country, you guys again proved you are tops of the Virginia 12U teams. Your dominating performances on Saturday against the SW Virginia Class Action “Scrappers” and Richmond Ruckus gave us the top seed and you never looked back from there. The momentum and success carried forward on Sunday with outstanding showings in the double elimination round, remaining in the winner’s bracket all day long.
I'm again very proud of everyone as you each contributed in both offense and defense, great pitching and outstanding hitting. Let's have a great week as we prepare to capture the "NSA States" the weekend after next. You guys are truly AWESOME! Always remember…..DBA – Dream it, Believe it, and Achieve it.
7th Annual Colonial Invitational (June 7-8)
Williamsburg, VA
As we prepare for the upcoming ASA States, this was a great weekend to condition ourselves for the elements while carrying the Baseliner tradition throughout the country. You guys are tops of the Virginia 12U teams and proved it this weekend beating the best Tidewater-area and Northern-VA teams. Your dominating performance on Saturday carried forward on Sunday with outstanding showings against the much-improved VA Beach Aces and the Shamrocks.
The Championship Game was tee'd up pitting the best from VA and Delaware. Despite coming up just a nick short in the finals, you delivered a hard-fought, courageous, and classy 7-inning finals. I'm very proud of everyone as you each contributed in both offense and defense, great pitching and hitting.
Not sure if I mentioned earlier but compliments and accolades to our whole team were provided by several of the opposing coaches and parents thorughout the weekend. Let's have a great week as we prepare to capture the "VA States" run starting next weekend. You guys rock!
